Cao Dai Temple - Cu Chi Tunnels Full Day Tour

Cao Dai Temple is a syncretist Vietnamese religious movement that incorporates aspect of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and even Catholicism. Cao Dai Temple (as it is more commonly known) was built in 1933 in a unique architectural style that reflects its blended traditions. Most people visit on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh City.

Our tour will take you to Cu Chi Tunnels - a must-see historical site in Ho Chi Minh city. Here you will have a quick look of Vietnamese's life in the war time and find more about the history of this country.

This is a full day tour from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple. For this itinerary, only a private tour is available.

- We will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Cu Chi Tunnels at around 7:30am. Before visiting the tunnels, visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

- Before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed.

- You will then spend the next hour exploring the tunnels under the instruction of local tour guide.

- Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47′s on display.

- Afterwards, you can enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war), then transfer to Cao Dai Temple.

- The Great Holy See Temple, built in 1926, is considered one of the most striking structures in all of South-East Asia. It is the headquarters of the unique Cao Dai sect, a religion with a hybrid of Buddhism, Christianity & Confucianism. Above the entrance is the all-seeing holy eye – symbol of the sect. Visitors will attend the midday ceremony’s extravaganza to witness the daily mass held by the Cao Dai followers which is a fantastic experience.

- After that, transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City at around 5:00pm.
